Frank Cotton built the Cotton Theater in 1909.  In the early 1900s there were approximately two other theaters in Cedar Falls.  Competition arose for the Cotton Theater when films became popular.  Today the theater is renamed the Oster-Regent Theater and facilitates community events as well as plays.
