R. was president, Frank Sinatra got his start with Tommy Dorsey’s swing band, seven cents bought a loaf of bread, Americans watched nervously as the war in Europe escalated, and a child with only a nickel was forced to choose between an ice cream cone and a bottle of pop. The year 1941 also saw the start of the Black Hawk Motorcycle Club in Waterloo, Iowa. Thirteen years later, the Rambling Wheels Motorcycle Club would be established as the sport of motorcycling enjoyed these decades of great popularity.
