The Maytag-Mason Auto plant produced three types of automobiles,
each serving a purpose. The first was called the "business car," because it was
designed for delivery. The "business car" ranged in price from
$1,150-$1,250 and
was powered by a two-cylinder, 25 horse engine, with a top speed of 30 miles per hour. The
next type of car was the "pleasure car," or "the climber," so named
because of the cars ability to master inclines as steep as 60 degrees. It also had a
convertible top. The third car, known as the "touring car," was the premium car
of its time, with leather seats, hardwood interior, and seating up to five people. The
"pleasure car" and the "touring car" were both equipped with four
cylinder engines and ranged in price from $1,250-$2,000. The "pleasure car" was
the first car manufactured by the company.
