For those visitors who did not enjoy amusement park rides there were also sporting events, a ballroom/dance hall, and other special attractions. The primary sporting events that were featured at Electric Park were boxing and wrestling matches. Many of the participants in these athletic events were from the local area and had such colorful names as the "Wieco Kid," "Kid Ray," "United Kid," "Hard Oil Lehr," "Pinky George," and "Kid Roberts." During this era boxing matches with paid admissions were illegal, so Peterson designated Wednesday evenings "free fight nights." Spectators could enter the park free on these nights in order to watch the boxing matches. Other athletic competitions were held on these nights, as well. Visitors could also dance the night away at the open air ballroom which seemingly was always crowded. Dances were held Tuesday through Saturday nights and performers were often the famous big bands that traveled throughout the country. Other special attractions included a vaudeville theater with free movies, shooting galleries, refreshment stands, the first Zeppelin flight over Waterloo, balloon ascensions, parachutists jumping from balloons, and firework displays. These attractions were designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes.

Electric Park had a sixty-foot Ferris wheel that was billed as "the only one of its kind in the Middle West." This attraction contributed greatly to the park's success, as large crowds from all over the country traveled to Waterloo to see and ride it. This was the only attraction within the park not powered by electricity. It was powered by water from the Cedar River.
