The first restaurant, or eating house, in Cedar Falls, was built by D.D. Divine in 1860.  The number of restaurants grew over the years along with the town and in 1900 there were 6 in Cedar Falls.  Competition continued to spring up all the time as restaurants came and went over the years.  Today there are 5 restaurants on Main Street in Cedar Falls.
