The other churches on Main Street changed over the years. St. Luke's Episcopal, the First Universalist, the First Free Methodists, the First Church of Christ Scientists and the First Christian Church were the churches that moved in and out over that time. Most of the churches in the Cedar Falls area were Protestant churches. There was a Catholic Church in town but not on Main Street. For many years Churches on Main Street moved around a lot. They moved into the old buildings of other churches, then moved to their own buildings off of Main Street. The First Free Methodists moved to Walnut in 1928, and the First Church of Christ Scientist bought the building on Main Street and used it until they moved off in 1966.
