Other events were also scheduled to celebrate the restoration of the theater. In the efforts called, "Premiere! The Regent," scheduled a movie starring Marilyn Monroe called, "How to Marry a Millionaire" and was being shown to aid in the raising of funds. During intermission of the movie a drawing took place for posters, t-shirts, season tickets to the Cedar Falls Community Playhouse, and other items. Other activities took place as well, including a farmers' market, a Oster 5K "Run for the Regent," and a kids fun run. Kids could also watch cartoons from ten a.m. to noon at the theater and then enjoy storytelling and art activities at the Cedar Falls Public Library. After that a lunch was offered with old classic cars on display at the Victorian House and Carriage House while lemonade and cookies were served. Additionally, the Cedar Falls Municipal Band performed from noon to 1 p.m. in Overman Park. Following the performance a drum corps led back to the Regent Theater for a special activity following the concert. Among the dozens of activities offered, the final event consisted of family night featuring free movies at 7 p.m. with showings of "Tootsie."
