This web site, devoted to the history of Black Hawk County, Iowa, is being created and maintained by the students of the University of Northern Iowa under the supervision of faculty in the Department of History, in cooperation with the staff of the UNI Information Technology Services.  We are indebted to the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences for its financial support and to the administrations and staffs of the Information Technology Services, the Cedar Falls Historical Society, the Grout Museum, the UNI Museum, and the public libraries of Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and surrounding communities for the time, energy, and resources they have contributed to make this project possible.
